BOOK SPOTLIGHT: The Viking Princess @KimKasch #MFRWauthor

The Viking Princess

Kim Kasch
Midnight Frost Books

THE VIKING PRINCESS is a legendary romance filled with honorable Knights from King Arthur’s Round Table, Salacious Pirates, and Brutal Vikings.

This is the story of the legendary Viking hero and Prince of Denmark, Holger Danske, and his forbidden romance with King Arthur’s half-sister, Morgaine LeFey. This tale has never been told outside of Denmark...until now.

Morgaine and Holger faced an attraction more powerful than any sword, stronger than any warrior and more magical than all the powers of Merlin.

The Lady of the Lake gave Excalibur to King Arthur but she also gave a sword made from the same metal and magic to the Viking Prince, Holger Danske. That sword is “Cortana”.

The Viking Princess is an 80,000 word New Adult retelling of folk-lore legend and Danish leader, Holger Danske, and his magical romance with the sorceress Princess Morgaine Le Fey.
EXCERPT
He laughed at her, making her senses bristle.
She was not amused. “Am I humorous?”
“I have heard you are many things,” he replied, “but humor has never been cited as one of your virtues.”
“First you laugh at me, and then you belittle me. Is this the way you treat all women?”
He pulled back on the reins. His horse slid to an immediate standstill. Then, burying his face into her hair, he whispered in her ear, “I have shown enormous restraint. Would you like me to show you how I treat all women?”
The burning ember inside her flared to a flame. The muscles low in her belly tightened, as she clenched her legs tighter, wrapping them around his steed. Sucking air into her lungs, she felt the immediate pulse of desire race through the core of her body. She wanted to reach back over her head and wrap her arms around his neck, to pull him even closer.
It was all she could do to hold her tongue and keep from begging him, when all she wanted to say was, “Yes, yes, please show me.”
Her body motionless, she could feel the warmth of him as his hands grew bold, slipping beneath the soft linens covering her, his fingers gently gliding up over her stomach, travelling beneath her breasts and edging up…
A voice whispered inside her head. What are you doing? This man is your enemy. He intends to kill you, your brother, everyone you love…
She grabbed his wrists, holding him still and steady. “You have caught me, kidnapped me, and dragged me here. I may be your prisoner, but do not think that I am interested in your advances.”
His body tensed and he pulled back his hands, gripping her firmly about the waist. “I, Holger, the prince over all the Norse lands, have never had a woman decline the privilege of being my lover.”
“Prince or pauper, it matters not to me what rank you hold, for I, too, am highborn and accustomed to many privileges,” she snapped back, unwilling to let him bask in his own conceit. “And being your lover is not a privilege I would prize.”
“Perhaps,” he said, softening his touch. Slowly he ran his finger down the length of her neck, taunting her. “But are you accustomed to this?” He swung her around to face him; his mouth moved to her neck, gently caressing her throat with his lips and tongue.
The warrior with the devil’s horns was surprisingly gentle and tender with his affections. Morgaine could not contain her pleasure. A small sigh moved up from her throat, over her lips, unexpectedly escaping into the night air. “This is nothing,” he whispered against her flesh, his hand moving down over her navel. Traveling to the valley between her thighs, he pressed his fingers into her apex and she gasped at his touch.
He pulled his hand back. “After your shrill tongue and insults, the next time you will have to beg for my attentions.”
His tone shocked her back into the present. No man had ever spoken to her in this manner. He had no idea of her power. She was not some peasant he could toy with. Morgaine Le Fey was a princess, the sister of King Arthur. It was her turn to laugh…and it came out of her loud and hard. He must not know of her talents.
She was the most powerful sorceress in Camelot and perhaps a dozen other kingdoms.
“Me? Beg? To think you will ever witness such an act from me,” she started to say but then shook her head and continued, “You must be more than foolish.”
“We will see,” he said, sounding more arrogant and insolent than ever.
“Yes, we shall see,” she replied, as he gave his horse a nudge and they continued riding.

Meet #MFRWauthor Thea Dawson with Wanderlust @AeroplaneMedia

MEET MFRW Author Thea Dawson
Thea Dawson has lived in Rome, Tokyo and London and spent much of her twenties traveling around some of the more exotic corners of the globe. She was finally talked into settling down when her boyfriend proposed to her in Angkor Wat, Cambodia.

Now she’s stateside again and embarking on a new career as a writer. Inspired by the places she's been and the people she met on the way, she plans to tell tales of romance and adventure.

website  |  twitter  |  goodreads  |  google+

How long does it take you to write a book?
FOREVER. Okay, more like four months with lots of on and off. I'm super slow.

I try to write a minimum of 1000 words a day, but don't always make it. My best writing time is in the morning from about 9-noon. It's when I'm thinking most clearly and, not coincidentally, when my kids are in school.

How do you come up with story ideas?
Like Monica, the heroine of Wanderlust, I lived abroad for much of my twenties. It was a very exciting, romantic time of my life and I have several stories planned around things that I experience while I was traveling.

What does your husband think of your writing?
He's super supportive and encouraging. For a while I was writing erotica under a different name and he was REALLY supportive. I had to keep him from telling everyone he met that his wife wrote porn. Now he sticks to just telling me I should write more sex scenes.

What can we expect from you in the future?
I'm currently writing a kind of prequel to Wanderlust that tells the story of one Wanderlust's supporting characters and how he met his wife. It takes place as the two of them travel through Japan, initially not getting along well but (of course) eventually falling in love.

Tell us about your latest book.
It's a contemporary romance, but it has some chick lit elements as well. The heroine's relationship with her gay roommate is (I think) one of the best parts of the book, with snappy dialogue and a really solid friendship. And the story isn't just about whether the hero and heroine will end up together but where they're going with their careers and how they're going to make their jobs work with their relationship.

Wanderlust

A writer and world traveler, Monica has everything she wants … except a free-spirited man to join her for life on the road. But when she bumps into Jason, who broke her heart in college, she lets him think she’s engaged. It wouldn’t take much to fall for him again—and that’s one road she doesn’t want to go down.

Jason dreams of the day he can quit his terrible job. Then he runs into Monica, the girl he never got over. Thinking she’s marrying a wealthy financier, he pretends he’s an ambitious career man in order to impress her.

Old feelings resurface, but Monica has trust issues and Jason doesn’t like risks. To top it off, Monica is leaving for Bangkok in two weeks—and she won’t be back soon. Time is running out for them to come to terms with the past and embrace their wanderlust.

What Reviewers Are Saying..
Thea Dawson created a beautiful story about first loves and heartbreaks, about chance meetings and misunderstandings, and about second chances and true love. Her words flowed from page to page making it near impossible to put down. The lighthearted read pulled at my heartstrings and kept me hoping for a happily ever after. —Summer's Book Blog

The cleverly woven humour, sadness, and hope laced throughout the book will simply wrap you up in the story. I pretty much finished it in one sitting. A real gem of a debut novel. —The British Bookworm

EXCERPT
She picked up her cup and took a sip of her mocha. I was about to make a joke about how at least she was still left-handed—some things don’t change—and I glanced reflexively at her hand. The room seemed to give a weird lurch that made my stomach roll over, but I pulled myself together.
“Hey, congratulations! Who’s the lucky guy?” I said with as much enthusiasm as I could muster.
She looked at me blankly. I looked significantly at her left hand. She put the cup down and looked at the ring, as if she were surprised to see it.
It was beautiful. An enormous, square-cut emerald, surrounded by tiny diamonds. A knock-out of a ring that might have cost as much as I made in several months. A big, goofy smile spread over her face as she looked down at it. “Oh! This is—it’s kind of a long story, actually—”
The bells on the coffee shop door rang again, and an elegantly dressed woman who looked to be in her early forties walked in.
“Oh, there she is,” said Monica, waving to the woman. “I’m going to have to—”
“No worries, I’ll get out of your way,” I said, getting up. I took a deep breath. “Look, can I get your number? I don’t want to be inappropriate, I know you’re engaged and all, but I’d love to catch up with you properly sometime.”
She gave me a quick glance that conveyed her hesitation, but to my relief she nodded. “Yeah. Yes, I’d like that, too,” she said, fumbling in the pocket of her backpack again. “My business cards are in here somewhere—” She gave up, clearly in a hurry to get rid of me. “You know what, I’m on Facebook, Monica Prescott. I have a page called Adventuress Travels.”
“Adventuress Travels,” I repeated. “And it’s not like I’ve forgotten your name.” I grinned. “I’ll message you. Great to see you!” I leaned down and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. I grabbed my coffee and smiled briefly at the elegant woman, who gave me an appraising look as I passed her.
“Who was that?” I heard the woman ask Monica as she sat down.
Monica’s reply made its way to me across the coffee shop as I made my way out the door and back into the bitter wind.
“No one. Just an old friend from college.”

He didn’t wait for an answer, but grasped her arm again and drew her toward the door. She wanted to protest, wanted to return the small chest to its hiding place—more than anything, she wanted to grab the dagger from the larger chest—but wants would not help her at this moment.
He stepped into the hallway, then pulled the door shut and waited.
She lifted her chin. “You must have a key. Lock the door yourself.”
He shrugged.
Rhoslyn cried out when he pulled her against his side. “What are ye doing?”
“I have no wish to be conked over the head or stabbed in the back while I lock the door.” His tone was mild as he opened his palm to reveal the key he’d been holding.
“For pity’s sake, release me,” she said. “I dinna’ plan to kill you by stabbing ye in the back.”
His arm tightened around her waist as he inserted the key and she was suddenly aware of his fingers pressing into her stomach and her arm wedged against the hard muscle of his chest. Her heart picked up speed. He turned the key in the lock and his fingers flexed when he withdrew the key and straightened.
“So you intend to look me in the eye when you kill me?” he asked.
“Aye,” she replied.
He drew her down the short corridor without loosening his hold. “I am gratified my wife has some honor.”
“I am no’ your wife.”
“Aye, you are.”
They reached the stairs and he urged her up ahead of him. In the kitchen, he grasped her arm and led her into the great hall. Men stood in half a dozen clusters about the room. Rhoslyn caught sight of a priest sitting with his back to them at the table nearest the hearth.
“Why is Father Crey here?” she demanded, but knew the answer. Her head whirled. What was she going to do? How could she stop this? Could she stop this? “Were ye no’ on your way to help my grandfather?”
“Aye.”
“Then how can we have a wedding?”
He looked down at her. “Even by your Scottish law we are already wed. I am willing to say the vows simply to please you.”
Rhoslyn understood. “Ye will help my grandfather only if I say the vows. Along with being a murderer and kidnapper, you are an extortionist.”
“You forgot thief,” he said.
“I have forgotten nothing.”
They neared the priest and he rose.
“I will help Seward because he is your grandfather. Is that not enough?” St. Claire asked.
“And if I do no’ say the vows?”
He shrugged and she wanted to scream.
“Then you can await me in my bedchambers until I return—or your bedchambers. I imagine there is no secret passageway in the lady’s room as there is in my chambers. I will bring your grandfather back with me and then come to you.”
Rhoslyn stared openmouthed.
“Fear not, lady. I am not so uncouth as to come to your bed straight from the battlefield. I promise to bathe first.”

EXCERPT
“Do you know a Mr. Snake Burton?” she asked.
“I reckon ‘bout everyone between here and Fort Worth knows Snake,” he said affably, and the crowd chuckled along with him.
“Then could you tell me where I might find him at this hour of the morning?”
“I s’pose he’s up at Miss Lulu’s still.”
“And where might I find Miss Lulu?”
“Oh, you don’t want to go finding Miss Lulu, ma’am. She’s six feet under or better and has been nigh on five, maybe six years now.”
“But Mr. Burton is at this Miss Lulu’s house? Then please show me the way.”
The crowd murmured its disapproval, and she wondered what she’d said wrong.
“I’ll show you where Miss Lulu’s is.”
The throng parted, and her heart caught in her throat. It was the dark-haired stranger with the cold, sky blue eyes. She almost took a step back as he approached then thought better of it. Treat him like Lucinda Smith, the ringleader of the bullies that picked on her in those early days when she first arrived at The Thompson School.
She drew herself up to her full height and raised her chin a notch for good measure. He came toward her slowly, an easy confidence in his gait.
He must be an even six feet, she judged. Muscle hardened his otherwise lean frame. His jet-black hair had a slight wave to it. His complexion was dark, as if he spent most of his time outdoors in the bright Texas sun. Chiseled cheeks and a strong jaw accompanied a sensuous mouth.
But what she focused on now was the small scar. Funny, she hadn’t noticed it before. It ran just above his chin, white against his tanned face. She thought it might be from a knife, based on her experience at the free clinic. She wondered how he’d gotten sliced in such a tender spot.
He paused as he reached her, his hat in his hand. “I can show you. But I don’t think you’ll want to go in.”
Her eyes flashed. “And why not?” she asked in a haughty tone.
“Because Miss Lulu’s is a house of ill repute.”

A BOOK SPOTLIGHT Only For You @Sherry_Ewing #MFRWauthor

Amazon bestselling author Sherry Ewing presents the continuing saga of Katherine and Riorden de Deveraux from For All of Ever in: Only for You.

Only For You

Sherry Ewing, Kingsburg Press

Katherine de Deveraux has it all or so she believes when she begins her life with her husband Riorden. But as she starts to settle into her duties at Warkworth Castle, she finds that an easy life is not only difficult but downright dangerous to her well-being.

Consumed with the haunting memories of his father, Riorden must deal with his sire’s widow who just happens to also be his ex-lover. Yet how could he know how far Marguerite is willing to go in order to have the life she feels they were meant to live?

Torn apart by circumstances neither Katherine nor Riorden could imagine, Time becomes their true enemy even while Marguerite continues her ploy to keep Riorden at her side. With all hope lost, will Katherine and Riorden find a way to save their marriage, or will Katherine be whisked back to where Time truly feels she belongs?

What Reviewers Are Saying...
"Another wonderful novel by Ms Ewing! One never knows what Time will do to a relationship. But in this novel, Time got it right. I was elated to see Jewels, Emily, and Brianna from her previous novel, For All Of Ever, return with all their feistiness, spunk, and charm. I laughed, I cried, and I cheered! And at the end I breathed a sigh of contentment believing in a happily ever after."

""Amazing. This author just keeps getting better. The story the presentation, the characters. I absolutely loved reading this and did not put it down until done. The only downside I can see on this author is the books are not coming fast enough! I do not believe in talking about the characters or the plot but I do believe in saying you will not be sorry for reading this!""

EXCERPT
Katherine held the bed post and stroked the heavy wooden frame, almost reverently, as if to memorize the feel of it beneath her fingertips. Rough in places, it wouldn't always remain this way. She smiled in remembrance of the first time she had seen this room.
The chamber really hadn't altered all that much from now to when she was in Bamburgh with her friends more than eight hundred years in the future. Some of the furniture may have changed over time, but she still marveled that their placement was exactly the same centuries from now. She leaned her forehead on the dark oaken post and closed her eyes. She could still feel the utter despair of when she had first seen Riorden here in this chamber. She remembered reaching out to touch him, yet he had been nothing but a shadow of what could have been if only Time had not played such a horrible hoax on them.
The sharp sound of a trunk closing as the lid dropped into place brought her back to the present, and she watched in fascination as Riorden ran a hand through his mussed, shoulder length hair. He reached for a goblet of wine and took a sip until his attention immediately flew to her over the cup rim. There was such intense longing in his gaze that Katherine’s heart flipped, as it always did whenever he looked at her in such a manner. She knew he was reliving his own disquieting memories of her in his chamber as a ghost.
They continued to watch one another, transfixed by the haunting nightmare they had once shared. The image he presented, however, was so reminiscent of their past ghostlike encounter that a small thrill went through her, knowing he was really standing right before her in the flesh. She could touch him anytime she so wished, and forevermore would she be grateful that Time had bended to their most heartfelt desire. It wasn’t every day that fate brought her a gorgeous chivalrous knight to call her very own. She had waited her whole lifetime to find him, and she would take advantage of such a gift!
His eyes traversed up and down her body until a lazy grin developed on his face that generally was Katherine’s undoing. Since she could stand the handsome distraction he presented no longer, she shortened the space between them. Her eyes never left his as she came to stand before him. Taking the goblet from his hand, she took a small taste where his lips had but recently met the edge and placed the cup carefully on the table. The heady wine slid down her throat, warming her stomach. It was nothing compared to what he was unintentionally doing to her emotionally. The room grew hot, and yet still they spoke no words. He looked down at her from his towering height. His eyes told her what he wanted, but she only gave him a seductive smile.
She expected to be ensnared in his embrace and taken to their bed. He surprised her when instead he held his palm face up to her, and she knew for certain he, too, had been reliving the experience of their past encounter. With her shaking hand, she placed her own palm face down to hover but inches over his. She shivered when tingling sensations rushed up her entire arm. It was still there...that connection between them that even Time would never separate.
She could almost hear his thoughts. They mirrored her own.

EXCERPT
"The restaurant was packed, and by the looks, it’d be a late night. Jack tucked the note into his pocket and served one of his tables. Then he took the note out again and reread it. Something clicked in his head, and he had to get out of the place. He told Tommy he was ill, and he walked right out the front door.
He stood on the sidewalk and stared at the gleaming smile that greeted him, conceding that he’d missed it.
“Don’t just stand there, my friend. Get in.”
Jack looked back at the bustling restaurant, ablaze in electric light. “I really shouldn’t. I could lose my job.”
“That doesn’t matter. Come on.”
Jack stood firm. “But it does matter. It’s how I make my living.”
“Not anymore.”
“What does that mean? You know it’s all I have. How many times have I served you and your friends?” He planted his hands on his hips.
“Get in. I have something to tell you.”
Jack didn’t want to go back into the restaurant, so he shook his head, shrugged, and got into the car.
“Trust me, you’ll be glad you did.” Eric pulled away from the curb and remained silent for several minutes, which piqued Jack’s interest even further.
“So tell me. I don’t understand.”
“It’s time you got out of the restaurant business. You need to move up in the world.”
“Something I’ve been telling myself for years, but it’s rather difficult to look for other work when I only get one day a week off and it is Sunday.”
Eric reached over and squeezed Jack’s thigh. “That’s what you have me for.”
“Have you?”
“Well, I’d like that to be so. You like me, don’t you?”
“Well, sure, but….”
“Then it’s settled. I have a surprise for you, and I hope you’ll take it in the spirit in which it’s given.”
“A surprise? What is it?”
Eric stared out over the road for several moments as he tapped his fingers on the steering wheel. “Well, you talked about loving the flickers, and I got to thinking. You’re so handsome and that’s what brings people into the movie houses. I think you might be perfectly suited to work at the studio. Would you like that?”
“Me? I won’t lie. When I came out here, all I wanted to do was get into the movies. But in reality, it seems so impractical.”
“Again, that’s where I come in. You love the movies, and that’s all it takes to do what I have in mind. That’s the beauty of it.”
“The beauty of what?”
“How would you like to work as an extra?”
The words hit him like a thunderbolt. “Me? How? Where?”

REVIEW
"I was constantly on the edge of my seat as the story began to develop. The characters were very believable, and I had immediate compassion for them and their situation. I was never bored and absolutely could not put this book down. I have read every book that Lyn has written, some multiple times! She is excellent at her craft and weaves a very good story every time. I can't wait for her next book!" (Goodreads)

EXCERPT
""Later, maybe,"" Julian said, turning to a different monitor and scanning the row of girls seated on a gold-coloured banquette.  ""Just look at those girls.  What kind of a life is it for them?  They look hungry.""
""They'll get fed, don't you worry,"" Mel said, deliberately misunderstanding.  ""Most of them have regulars, and they all thrive on uncertainty.  It keeps them in their place, docile, charming—better than Viagra.""
Julian watched as a dark, slightly-built waiter with a camp walk paraded in front of the row of women before pausing in front of one of them.  He beckoned with his finger and she rose obediently, following the waiter around the perimeter of the room.  Julian peered at the screen.  ""Who is she?""
Mel glanced at the bank of monitors.  ""I forget her name; someone Petra brought in for a trial.  I doubt she'll cut it though, too prim and proper.  I'll get rid of her at the end of the week.  Mind you, some of the punters seem to like her.  Old Ken Featherstone's been in three times this week asking for her.""
Julian continued to watch, frowning in concentration, as the waiter led the woman to the restaurant area and presented her to a table of what appeared to be semi-drunk businessmen.  Two other hostesses were already at the table, sipping champagne.  He liked the calm, dignified way she walked, not like a model on a catwalk compelling all eyes to look at her, but like someone careful not to encroach on another person's space.  She appeared shy, but determined and that struck a chord with him.  He could see why Mel wasn't impressed.  She was the sort of girl Guy would have liked.
He watched the other hostesses eyeing the new girl with barely-concealed hostility.  They looked hard-faced in comparison, mean and hungry, evidently resenting the younger, prettier woman.

Why Authors Write with #MFRWauthor Susan Behon @SueBeehny on #Thursday13

MFRW Author Susan Behon hosts Thursday13.
Susan Behon enjoys creating a world that brings readers romance, laughter, and a healthy dose of sexiness. Susan graduated summa cum laude with a B. A. in English from Norfolk State University. She currently lives in Ohio with her very own romance hero of a husband and their two wonderful daughters.

1.Q: Why did you decide to write romance novels?
A: I've read romance novels since I was 13 and I've always loved the genre. Now that my children are older, I have the time to explore all of the love stories in my imagination that are just waiting to be told.
Thirteen Reasons I Write
1. It's cheaper than therapy.
2. I like getting to know my characters.
3. I get to create a world of my own making.
4. I like creating scrumptious book boyfriends.
5. There is always a happy ending.
6. I love to do research.
7. I'm addicted to romance.
8. Some money wouldn't hurt.
9. The sense of accomplishment I feel when I type ""The End.""
10. I love it when someone laughs at a funny part in my book.
11. I enjoy taking the reader to a happy place.
12. I also enjoy living vicariously in that happy place.
13. I write because I feel as though it was something I was always meant to do.

2.Q: How much of your personality and life experiences are in your writing?
A: I think all writers express parts of their personality and life experiences in their writing. The story comes from you, so they essentially are you. Anyone who knows me can see parts of me here and there in a story. The rest of it is completely made up.

3.Q: What kind of research do you do for a book?
A: I people watch a great deal. I've always been quiet so it's easy to listen and learn about what's in front of me. Google is also my best friend.

4. Q: Tell us about your latest book.
A: My contemporary romance is called Fall For You and it is Book #1 in the Madison Falls series. It is the love story of Sophie Brandon (Cookie Baker) and Reed Sutton (Construction manager.) Sophie had a crush on Reed back in high school but the cruelty of someone stopped their budding relationship before it started. After 8 years away, Reed comes back to take over the family construction firm and by chance runs into Sophie. He does his best to prove that love is sweeter the second time around, but outside sources and gossip threaten the relationship again. It is the story of Reed and Sophie finding each other all over again.
Fall For You (Book 1, Madison Falls Series)
Sophie Brandon is in a bind.
After eight years, Reed Sutton is back in town and back on Sophie's radar. Her high school crush is home to stay and hotter than ever. How can she avoid the gorgeous construction manager when she needs work done in her bakery?
`
Reed knows he's overqualified for the simple renovation, but when it comes to sweet Sophie, he's the man for the job. Her kitchen heats up when one kiss leads to more and a storeroom mishap throws her right into Reed's arms. Once he catches her, he can't seem to keep his hands off of her...cookies.
Small town gossip mixed with threats against Sophie are a recipe for disaster. Will history repeat itself or will love conquer all?

5. Q: Where did the idea for this book come from?
A: The beginning of the story is based on a real life experience between my husband and myself. Before we dated, I had a crush on him and hid behind a table of bread when I ran into him at the grocery store. That is what sparked the idea for the story. From there, Sophie and Reed become their own unique characters.

6. Q: Can you share a scene from the book?

EXCERPT
"Damn!”Sophie Brandon was in a bind.Hiding behind a stack of rye bread might seem odd to the average Joe, but Sophie was a true believer in self-preservation. Considering she absolutely hated the smell of it, her awkward dive behind this particular table was made with good reason. With a quick peek around the display, she confirmed that the good reason was still standing over at the bakery counter. After eight years in the Navy, Reed Sutton was finally home. While lying low behind the bread, Sophie admired the view from across the aisle. She had to admit, Reed had only gotten better looking with age. The current object of her secret regard was gorgeous, fit, sexy, and...ordering a cake?Along with ogling, she could now add eavesdropping to her stalker resume.Reed had been back in Madison Falls for more than six months and Sophie had yet to have a conversation with him. Given the opportunity now, she still had no idea what to say. After all, he was the one who got away, or more truthfully, the one she never had.Not for lack of trying, of course.Back in high school, Sophie wanted Reed with all the passion and hope a girl with a teenage crush could possess. She'd been thrilled when he finally showed a romantic interest in her.Or so she thought.Sophie's dreams of dating Reed Sutton were dashed the night his mom shot her down.It was cruel. It was loud. And it was in public. After that humiliating fiasco, Sophie couldn't face Reed. She was too embarrassed to even speak to him again. Those feelings still held true considering she was an adult using rye bread for camouflage.Sophie looked down and silently cursed her wardrobe choice.Just shoot me now. This morning, Sophie thought she would be working alone all day in her bakery. It didn't matter what she wore since no one was supposed to see her. Then, wearing a lime green, threadbare, “I'm a real M.F.'er” T-shirt, a joking nod to Madison Falls, seemed like a good idea. Now? Not so much.Add in the odd chocolate stain or two, her frayed denim shorts, and her slicked back ponytail, and her fashion disaster was complete. Sophie also had a vague suspicion that there was cookie dough in her hair.Maybe she could army crawl to the next aisle over? After taking another peek out, she found Elaine Newman blocking her escape route. Elaine was one of the town's biggest gossips. How long did it take a woman to pick out bagels anyway? Sophie mentally urged her to make a choice and go away already. In the meantime, she prayed for invisibility. If that old biddy saw her playing hide and seek behind the baked goods, it would be all over town in no time. This trip to the Madison Falls Market was supposed to be a quick supply grab, in and out, no problem.Sophie wondered what universal law stated that you always ran into someone you knew when you looked like crap. If she were dressed to the nines, sporting the best hair day ever, the aisles would be completely empty.Today wasn't that day.Of course, Reed looked wonderful. His broad shoulders were perfectly encased in a form fitting slate gray T-shirt. That lucky fabric hugged his well-defined muscles all the way down to his narrow waist. His dark jeans were loose but in no way baggy. The back pockets cupped his butt in a way that made her palms twitchy with a desire to do.

7. Q: How can readers connect with you?
A: My social Media links:  websitefacebookgoogle+, and goodreads.

A Taste of You BOOK SPOTLIGHT by #MFRWauthor @IrenePreston

A Taste of You
Irene Preston
Contemporary M/M Romance
Fated Desires

Hell's Kitchen has nothing on Restaurant Ransom...

Garrett Ransom is America's hot chef du jour. He has a Michelin-starred restaurant in New York City, a hit reality TV show, and a new man in his bed every week. Yes, he secretly thinks his business partner, Giancarlo ""Carlo"" Rotolo, is hotter than a ghost pepper, but he would never jeopardize their friendship with a fling. Then Garrett overhears some juicy gossip among the crew and realizes he'll have to break Giancarlo's cardinal rule, no banging the staff - for Carlo's own good, of course.

Giancarlo's been in love with Garrett forever. He's sure Garrett will eventually realize they are destined to be more than business partners. But when Garrett installs his latest boyfriend as their new chef d'cuisine and announces plans to leave Carlo in New York while he opens a second restaurant, Carlo is forced to re-evaluate his life.

REVIEW
“This book was wonderful from start to finish. We had a bit of everything, there was angst, there was humour, there was romance, there was passion, both in the kitchen and out of it….A well-written, sensual romance that will leave you smiling at the end.”
--Zipper Ripper Reviews

EXCERPT
Screw “not too eager.” His legs must have moved, but Giancarlo couldn’t have said how he got from Point A to Point B. He knew only that Garrett was home, and they were together again. They were doing their usual greeting, a mash-up of a bro-hug and a more European double-cheek air kiss. And how had two gay men come up with something so awkward?
Or maybe it wasn’t awkward to anyone but Carlo because he didn’t want the bro-hug or “air kisses.” He wanted to sweep Garrett into his arms and soul kiss him until they were both dizzy and panting. He wanted the real damn thing.
Instead, he held himself awkwardly rigid while he leaned in to welcome his best friend home—upper half only on the hug so an indiscrete brush of thigh wouldn’t reveal exactly how happy he was to see his business partner. He inhaled carefully on the second kiss, and his knees nearly buckled. Garrett was the only chef he knew who never seemed to smell like his kitchen. No fish. No beef. No spices. Never in a million years the fry station. Garrett smelled sweet—warm cookies, vanilla, and sugar—like he should have been the pastry chef instead of Grace. The aroma always blindsided Giancarlo. Garrett wasn’t known for sweet. The scent was a secret thing. The Garrett no one knew but him.
