3. You get to yell really loud and no one looks at you funny.
4. It keeps you in shape.
5. Hot Black Belt guys.
6. Make friends with awesome strong women.
7. Uniforms mean you don't have to worry about looking good in yoga pants.
8. Discipline.
9. People will think you're a badass. (if they didn't already know)
10. Live without fear.
11. It can be a family activity or something just for you.
12. Breaking boards is cool (and not as difficult as you think).
13. Did I mention you get to hit things?

MFRW Author M.S. Kaye released Kindling the Past, a romantic suspense, with Liquid Silver Books on April 28, 2014.

Kindle is fighting to survive on her own, to break free from her possessive and violent ex-boyfriend, not to let her best friend Anna know she’s in love with her husband. Most of all, she fights the visions she sees of the past—she doesn’t believe in that kind of stuff.

Then Anna is shot and killed.

In their grief, Kindle and Ty, Anna’s husband and Kindle’s Taekwondo instructor, grow closer. Although Kindle is careful never to let him too close, he helps her learn to accept her visions are real. Eventually, the truth about Anna’s death breaks through into Kindle’s visions, and she must find a way not to let it destroy her.

EXCERPT
I fought the visions. My mother used to tell me my expression turned stupid when I had them, but I didn’t care about that so much anymore. I hated when the visions were true somehow, actual bits of the past. I didn’t believe in that kind of stuff.
“She’s such a snob,” one of the young women whispered on the other side of the locker room.
I stayed faced away, trying not to hear their gossip. I tugged my jeans on and pulled my shirt over my head. When I glanced in the mirror to fix my hair, I barely saw the dark brown framing my fair skin—only the way the other girls looked at me. I bent over to pick up my shoes.
“The guys don’t even ask her out because she’s so stuck up.”
I didn’t understand why they thought like this about me, but I didn’t much care anyway. As soon as I had my shoes on, I threw my gear bag over my shoulder and walked out.
Master Trahem was on the workout floor sparring with Mr. Schmidt. Master Trahem’s uniform was starting to come open, and sweat glistened on his well-built chest.
I looked away.
“Bye, Kindle,” Mrs. Trahem said as I passed the front counter. “See you tomorrow.”
I smiled at her, one of the few people I reserved my genuine smile for. She was a big part of the reason I came in early to help every day, her and her atrocious typing skills. She always held her fingers above the keys like a fisherman wielding a spear, as if expecting them to squirm out from under her aim.
But honestly, helping with data entry was just an excuse—Mrs. Trahem was the best person I’d ever known, and I felt calmer when I was around her.
“You’ll be there early, right?” Mrs. Trahem added. She tucked her silky dark hair behind her ear. There was a grace to her movement. No wonder Master Trahem had married her so quickly. At twenty-nine, she was a few years older than me but looked just as young.
“Definitely.” Then I kept walking. Before I gave into the urge to turn and watch Master Trahem.
The girls from the locker room followed me out into the parking lot. I sat in my car and started the engine.
While I drove the forty-five minutes home, I fought to stay awake. At least traffic at nine-thirty at night was thin. I always missed rush hour. I left my apartment before six every morning and didn’t return until after ten. Being tired felt normal.
As I pulled up to my building, I examined each car. I knew to whom each of them belonged, as well as half my neighbors’ friends’ cars. The girl across the hall traded boyfriends every week. She drove me nuts.
I had no way of knowing what Chris was driving. I had to know which cars were supposed to be here in order to know if there was a new one. Most of my neighbors drove beaters like me, and Chris had always liked something flashy. But with him, I couldn’t depend on consistency. He was smart.
I recognized all the cars tonight. I parked under the streetlight and kept the door locked while I pulled my gear bag onto my lap and slipped the strap over my shoulder. Keys ready, I jumped out of the car and jogged up the steps. I hated apartment buildings in Florida. The halls were open, no security doors to block unwanted visitors from knocking on your front door, from lurking in shadowy corners.
Within about ten seconds, I was up the stairs, down the hall, and at my door. Just being able to move quickly without running out of breath was worth the cost of Taekwondo classes. I felt more confident, less scared.
My door unlocked, I glanced down the hall one more time then slipped inside. I closed the door, locked it, and flipped the lights.
I was not alone.
He was right there, tall, thick, and blond as always. I was seeing as clearly as if through acid. I blinked to make sure he was really there. I always did that. It was stupid.
Chris was always there.

EXCERPT
"It’s going to be all right.
Tracey repeated the words to herself, staring into the depths of her still-full glass of dark red wine while a busboy removed her equally untouched meal from the table. Across from her, Adam stared at his own plate as he sawed through his steak with unnecessary force, chewing each bite as though the tender beef had turned to leather in his mouth.
What if it wasn’t all right, though?
Rubbing a hand over her pitching belly, Tracey took a small sip of wine. It was an excellent vintage, a favorite, but it burned going down her throat and bubbled like acid in her stomach. Almost as if she were pregnant, and delicate with it, but the comparison brought only another pang. There was nothing so joyful as a tiny beating heart resting in her womb. Only the weight of her sadness and worry, throwing everything off kilter.
Nothing tasted right. Or smelled right. Or felt right.
Half sick, she shoved the glass away. Keeping their weekly dinner date at Chez Charlie’s had been a mistake. They should have just gone home instead of trying to eat with such an important conversation hanging over their heads, pretending everything was fine. But she hadn’t been able to face one more break in their routine, and pretending had become their way of life. Adam had agreed, both of them clinging to this last, small tradition.
Adam chewed and swallowed, chewed and swallowed. How could he eat? If her throat closed down any more tightly she would choke on nothing more than air.
“Are you all right?” Adam asked, his gorgeous sherry eyes skating over her face, not looking at her directly. His gaze came to rest at a point slightly above her left shoulder.
Tracey nodded jerkily and said, “Fine,” the word rasping over her vocal cords like sandpaper.
She reached for her water glass, then set it back down without taking a drink, afraid she wouldn’t be able to swallow the icy liquid.
“Do you want to. . . talk now?” The fingers clutching his fork were white at the knuckles.
Tension tore through her already shredded emotions. Here, in the restaurant?
“N-no.” She shook her head to emphasize the word. She cleared her throat. “No.”
A heartbeat passed in silence, then two, before Adam nodded and returned his attention to his steak.
She forced a deep breath into her lungs, and another, lightheaded from lack of oxygen and hoping to tame the wild tremors coursing through her body. Nerves made her fingertips numb with anxiety. She twisted them in her lap, while the ‘D’ word trampled all the once-tranquil pathways in her heart.
Divorce.
Di-vorce.
D-I-V-O-R-C-E.
It pulsed in her mind with dark menace, an evil heartbeat. Di-vorce. Di-vorce. Such a cold, awful word. A word that sounded exactly like what it meant. To divide. To forcefully separate into two parts, like an axe blade striking something precious and cleaving it down the middle, leaving only broken pieces behind out of a once-beautiful whole.
Divorce.
As yet unspoken, its specter haunted the battleground of white linen stretched between them while they endured their quietly strained dinner. The oh-so-solicitous passing of bread, the refilling of a glass. Politely formal as they never were, except when an argument was brewing.
Did Adam feel that poisonous ghost creeping along his spine the way she did, digging its sharp-taloned fingers into the tender skin at the base of his throat? Did he recognize the danger, the red-flashing warning signs screaming, Turn back now, before it’s too late?

REVIEWS
This is the first book in this series I have read, but I am definitely going to read them all now. An interesting fast paced story that has suspense and intense sexual attraction. Thunder and Dawn, each a member of a secret elite special ops unit, have a dangerous mission, also an over whelming attraction to each other. Can they do their job or will their lust get in the way? Enjoyed this book very much. -Goodreads Reviewer

I have decided, months ago, that each book from P. T. Macias' pen gets better! Thunder did not disappoint! Thunder is the seventh in a series of books, a series that I hate to see end! The action and suspense in the series does not stop. The romance leaves you wanting more! I can't think of a military romance series that I could ever love more!  Awesome work, P. T. Macias! -Amazon Reviewer

BOOK TRAILER

EXCERPT
It’s early in the morning in Southern California. The sea mist is still thick in the hillside near the coast. Lightning sprints forward, anxious to reach the cliff.

Oh, yes! I’m so excited that I can’t stand it. That’s why I got up extra early to burn up some of this crazy energy running through my blood. Hell, I always take a run when I’m feeling this excited. Everything that we worked for is finally in our hands.

Thunder is happy and excited but not like me. He’s only gone along with me because he always does. He’s my twin and I expect no less. I did the medical school because of him. The great thing is that we have lots of years ahead of us to do both.

Lightning reaches the cliff and raises his snout up, pointing at the fading moon and stars. His ears fold back and he closes his beautiful green eyes. He howls deep and long, expending his excitement. It’s almost sunrise and the moment is momentous for Lightning.
