“Dancing on the Dark Side” is set in contemporary Salem, Massachusetts, where an unfaithful fiancé and a skanky roommate send Bliss in search of a new beginning. Miraculously, a place opens up at Windhaven, with both a scholarship and a TA position. Totally unheard of for a transfer student, but she knows better than to question her luck. 

The populace at Windhaven is a bit different. A sexy barista flees the shop after she places her order, but reappears in her dance class. Her roommate, Rowan, always seems to know exactly what to say. More than a few females are resentful of her smooth slide into the TA job. Then there’s the feeling that somehow everything seems familiar, a sort of Déjà Vu…only not in this lifetime.

“Dancing on the Dark Side” seamlessly combines magic, vampires, legends and past lives in a believable, intriguing read. This fast-paced novel features lush imagery, realistic dialogue, and shows as opposed to tells. Bliss is a likable college student whose twin goals include being the best dancer she can be and getting away from a sucky situation. Even though her attraction to barista Ciarán is immediate, her realization that they knew each other in another lifetime is slower in coming, which gives it an authentic feel. Ciaran is a strong character, wrestling both with his love for Bliss and who she was in another life, and how that life ended because of him.

This was truly a wonderful trilogy. Sylvie and Connor are my newest favorite couple. Ms. Frances blew me away with her wit, humor and erotic sex scenes. This will definitely be a re-read for me. Connor definitely redeemed himself in this last book and I've not quite met a heroine like Sylvie before. Their love story was different than the usual poor girl meets billionaire plot line and romance readers will definitely love this series. Great job Ms. Frances. I wish you had a 4th book in this series. I'm sad that I've finished and its been a while since I read a book that kept be guessing until the very end. Loved it!

Her jaw dropped.  Connor hadn't left it at threatening calls.  He'd barged into the offices of Bookworm Press and had a verbal and physical altercation with Jameson.  Sylvie couldn't believe what she was reading.  Words led to shoves and their subordinates had to step between them, to stop them from throwing punches at one another.  Sylvie sat shaking her head.  They were fighting over who she was going to work for?  How immature!  She didn't blame Jameson.  She blamed Connor for causing the scene.  This was the same man who couldn't be bothered seeing her Saturday night, who treated her like a discarded toy, a possession he no longer wanted, and now he's threatening to fight people for her?  The whole thing was ridiculous!  Why all this macho posturing? 

Saturday he didn't want her.  Now he wants her?  Make up your frigging mind Connor! 

She didn't understand men.  If you throw something away, if you leave it on the curb, and someone else picks it up, you have no right to demand they give it back.  You don't want it, but you don't want anyone else to have it either?  Connor couldn't have it both ways. 

She didn't belong to him.  He had no say in the matter.  He'd lost that right.
Sylvie decided not to respond to the last email.  Though Jameson was obviously gloating over the fact that Connor was apoplectic about Sylvie leaving his employ, she was afraid that on further reflection he might not want to get in a pissing contest with Connor after all.  Articles on the internet portrayed Connor as a ruthless adversary, a coldhearted corporate cutthroat.  From what she'd been told, he and Jameson had engaged in this stupid competition, this dick-slapping contest, for years.  Maybe it wasn't as big a deal as Sylvie thought it was.  Maybe it was just business as usual for them.

The most common place I get ideas is, oddly enough, in the car. Sometimes it's because I'm deep in thought; other times, an interesting road sign will spur my imagination. I always start with characters, and characters can be inspired by almost anything. Many times, for me, it's small businesses! There's a story in my drafts folder with the quirkiest pair of detectives who were inspired by side-by-side businesses in the middle of nowhere on our way to the beach; another by the name of a quarry!

I write romance because I love happy endings. I'm infamous for not wanting to watch movies unless they have princesses in them; I hate dramatic television; and the depressing books I had to read to complete my degree in English made me grind my teeth. Sometimes, you just want your characters to be happy in the end, right? (We won't talk about the torture we put them through in the middle!)

My current book is a historical fantasy romance. I love (LOVE) historical romance, especially those with big families and lots of humor – you know the ones I mean. But I also deeply love fantasy and science fiction – those are the books I grew up reading. And I think there’s nothing that could make Regency London better than magic. Add in a shy wizard, a thief, and an interfering duchess, and you have a lot of fun waiting to happen. I write what I want to read!

I hesitated but stepped over the threshold, the biometric scanner in the door confirming my identity even if the delegate had neglected to ask for it. This was my first solo assignment, but I’d been part of details around the hotel all my life.

Manually, I'm the most uncreative person you'll ever meet. I paint, and it's a blob. I sculpt and it implodes, but I do have a vivid imagination. Add in that I love words, and you see why I write.
I'm a sucker for true love and anything paranormal. A lot of the places in my books are drawn from things I've seen and done, but I've never yet met a werewolf.  On consideration, that’s probably a good thing.

My latest book is a new departure for me. Nothing paranormal and nothing supernatural, just two Doms with sex toys and a repressed heroine born to be wild. I wrote this one by accident.

I saw a special call on the Luminosity website for short stories on ""One night in a dungeon."" Sometimes lightning strikes and I know a story right off. Since it was a 1500 word limit, I wrote it in two weeks. Usually I take months.

I was so excited I hadn’t read the rest of the call -until it was time to submit.
OMG- M/M only. Mine didn't fit. I polished it up and added  some details I’d had to drop to make the word count. It came out even better this time around so I submitted it to Luminosity as a stand alone.

And guess what? They took it. The best serendipity ever.

Shirtless sitting up on the edge of his bed, his head angled back, eyes closed, lips parted. A dark-haired woman draped over him, kissing his neck, her legs wrapped around him. Her black leather skirt hiked up to her waist, his hands cupping her bare ass.
Her heart clenched, squeezing in her chest so hard it hurt. Deep and searing her from the inside out.
Jesus.
How it hurt.
And she didn’t know why.
He wasn’t hers. He was a biker who couldn’t stand her. Single, free to screw however many scantily dressed women he wanted. Her brother warned her bikers did it often, and still somewhere deep inside, she held hope Jace was different. J.L. Sheppard was born and raised in Miami, Florida where she still lives with her husband and son. As a child, her greatest aspiration was to become a writer. She read often, kept a journal and wrote countless poems. She attended Florida International University and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelors in Communications. During her senior year, she interned at NBC Miami, WTVJ. Following the internship, she was hired and worked in the News Department for three years.

"Don't you think it's kind of shitty to be having drinks with one woman while you're still engaged to another?""
""You looked upset in the elevator, and I thought it would be nice to have a friendly drink. We're going Dutch, remember? I can have female friends. What have we done that's inappropriate? Nothing.""
Micky had to admit that, for her, it wasn't nothing. And she doubted that the pull of attraction went one way. She contemplated grabbing her purse and stalking out of the bar.
""We've flirted,"" she admitted, which only served to amuse him further.
""Really? You seemed pretty pissed off the other night even though I'm not entirely sure why.""
""That's funny because the thing that pissed me off then has turned out to be true. You casually talked about being into all manners of women. So many women, so little time, I guess. Now you tell me that your called-off engagement might not be called-off. It makes me wonder if that's all some elaborate tale to keep me thinking you're available when you're not,"" Micky snapped, the control she had over her ire dissipating.
""Believe me, I'm not one to date more than one woman at a time. Most guys may say they want lots of women in their life, but trust me, I don't need the drama.""
""Women bring drama?""
""Not necessarily, but I've found that the level of crazy in a man's life rises exponentially with the number of women."" He sighed and started to speak again, but Micky cut him off.
""I see,"" she said, looking around the bar for the waiter. 
""No, wait. I just mean that juggling women is a bad idea and a habit that I broke myself of a long time ago.""
""Have you? Because I don't care what you say. I've seen the way you look at me, and it is most definitely inappropriate if you're promised to someone else. Is it so hard to wrap up one relationship entirely before looking for your next conquest?""
The green in Nick's eyes deepened. He leaned over the table.""You're right. I'm attracted to you. I'd love nothing more than to drag you upstairs to one of the rooms in this hotel and strip those uptight business clothes off of you so that I can finally know what color your nipples are.
