MFRW Author Chantilly White released Tempest, a Mainstream Contemporary Romance, with Snap Dragon Press on March 25, 2014.

"Sometimes it takes a storm to clear the air. . .

A contemporary romance novella, Tempest is the poignant tale of two damaged souls on the verge of losing the most important thing in either of their lives. . . Each other.

One year ago, Tracey and Adam Wesley's relationship was strong, happy, fulfilling. Now, their ten-year marriage is at a terrible crossroads. They stumble through their days, pretending everything is fine, but inside, they fear their love is dying.

Win or lose, the heartbreaking battle for the survival of their marriage ends tonight. Will a push from Mother Nature help them remember just how rare and precious their love truly is, or put an end to it forever?" Tempest is the story of Tracey and Adam, a long-married couple struggling to find their way back to each other after a difficult year. They no longer know if their love story will have a happily-ever-after ending...

What Reviewers Say...
"Emotionally and romantically satisfying, Tempest had me turning the digital page one after another." -J. Tate
EXCERPT
"It’s going to be all right.
Tracey repeated the words to herself, staring into the depths of her still-full glass of dark red wine while a busboy removed her equally untouched meal from the table. Across from her, Adam stared at his own plate as he sawed through his steak with unnecessary force, chewing each bite as though the tender beef had turned to leather in his mouth.
What if it wasn’t all right, though?
Rubbing a hand over her pitching belly, Tracey took a small sip of wine. It was an excellent vintage, a favorite, but it burned going down her throat and bubbled like acid in her stomach. Almost as if she were pregnant, and delicate with it, but the comparison brought only another pang. There was nothing so joyful as a tiny beating heart resting in her womb. Only the weight of her sadness and worry, throwing everything off kilter.
Nothing tasted right. Or smelled right. Or felt right.
Half sick, she shoved the glass away. Keeping their weekly dinner date at Chez Charlie’s had been a mistake. They should have just gone home instead of trying to eat with such an important conversation hanging over their heads, pretending everything was fine. But she hadn’t been able to face one more break in their routine, and pretending had become their way of life. Adam had agreed, both of them clinging to this last, small tradition.
Adam chewed and swallowed, chewed and swallowed. How could he eat? If her throat closed down any more tightly she would choke on nothing more than air.
“Are you all right?” Adam asked, his gorgeous sherry eyes skating over her face, not looking at her directly. His gaze came to rest at a point slightly above her left shoulder.
Tracey nodded jerkily and said, “Fine,” the word rasping over her vocal cords like sandpaper.
She reached for her water glass, then set it back down without taking a drink, afraid she wouldn’t be able to swallow the icy liquid.
“Do you want to. . . talk now?” The fingers clutching his fork were white at the knuckles.
Tension tore through her already shredded emotions. Here, in the restaurant?
“N-no.” She shook her head to emphasize the word. She cleared her throat. “No.”
A heartbeat passed in silence, then two, before Adam nodded and returned his attention to his steak.
She forced a deep breath into her lungs, and another, lightheaded from lack of oxygen and hoping to tame the wild tremors coursing through her body. Nerves made her fingertips numb with anxiety. She twisted them in her lap, while the ‘D’ word trampled all the once-tranquil pathways in her heart.
Divorce.
Di-vorce.
D-I-V-O-R-C-E.
It pulsed in her mind with dark menace, an evil heartbeat. Di-vorce. Di-vorce. Such a cold, awful word. A word that sounded exactly like what it meant. To divide. To forcefully separate into two parts, like an axe blade striking something precious and cleaving it down the middle, leaving only broken pieces behind out of a once-beautiful whole.
Divorce.
As yet unspoken, its specter haunted the battleground of white linen stretched between them while they endured their quietly strained dinner. The oh-so-solicitous passing of bread, the refilling of a glass. Politely formal as they never were, except when an argument was brewing.
Did Adam feel that poisonous ghost creeping along his spine the way she did, digging its sharp-taloned fingers into the tender skin at the base of his throat? Did he recognize the danger, the red-flashing warning signs screaming, Turn back now, before it’s too late?

REVIEWS
This is the first book in this series I have read, but I am definitely going to read them all now. An interesting fast paced story that has suspense and intense sexual attraction. Thunder and Dawn, each a member of a secret elite special ops unit, have a dangerous mission, also an over whelming attraction to each other. Can they do their job or will their lust get in the way? Enjoyed this book very much. -Goodreads Reviewer

I have decided, months ago, that each book from P. T. Macias' pen gets better! Thunder did not disappoint! Thunder is the seventh in a series of books, a series that I hate to see end! The action and suspense in the series does not stop. The romance leaves you wanting more! I can't think of a military romance series that I could ever love more!  Awesome work, P. T. Macias! -Amazon Reviewer

BOOK TRAILER

EXCERPT
It’s early in the morning in Southern California. The sea mist is still thick in the hillside near the coast. Lightning sprints forward, anxious to reach the cliff.

Oh, yes! I’m so excited that I can’t stand it. That’s why I got up extra early to burn up some of this crazy energy running through my blood. Hell, I always take a run when I’m feeling this excited. Everything that we worked for is finally in our hands.

Thunder is happy and excited but not like me. He’s only gone along with me because he always does. He’s my twin and I expect no less. I did the medical school because of him. The great thing is that we have lots of years ahead of us to do both.

Lightning reaches the cliff and raises his snout up, pointing at the fading moon and stars. His ears fold back and he closes his beautiful green eyes. He howls deep and long, expending his excitement. It’s almost sunrise and the moment is momentous for Lightning.

BOOK SPOTLIGHT: Everlasting @TmoniqueBooks #MFRWauthor

Loyalty guided him to NYC. Love will lead him to hell.
MFRW Author Tmonique Stephens released EVERLASTING ( Descendants of Ra Book 2), a Mainstream Paranormal Romance, on August 9, 2013.

Kill the beast.
Save your brother.
Win your freedom.
No problem.
Falling in love with the cop trying to arrest you?
Problem.

To save his twin from death, Reign Nicolis will have to bargain with Goddess of the Dead, and once more become what he despises, El Mortem, The Scourge, a killer trained to show mercy to none. But he is haunted by those who have fallen beneath his blade. Their ghostly shapes dog his footsteps, relentless in their torture to make him suffer for what he was put on this earth to do two thousand years ago. Saving his twin ensures Reign’s enslavement to the Goddess. She may own his body, but never his heart.

REVIEWS
Everlasting was just as good as Eternity….heck maybe better. Tmonique Stephens just really knows how to throw romance, egyptian mythology and tortured heroes together so very well. My heart bled for Reign, I mean if Roman stole my heart…Reigh has it by the veins. Being held captive for 2 millinium by an evil witch of a woman just turned the man into a souless unfeeling thing until he meet Alexis Lever. Alexis..now this heroine is very much different than Mrs. Stephens previous female protagognists. She’s tougher, but Alexis has her own demons to fight and now she’s falling in love with a killer.

This story was action packed and sexxy as sin. The sands of Egypt and NY are burning up! I loved it. It was just everything a paranormal romance should be. Reign and Alexis were the perfect couple for one another, their struggles with theirselves and then their feelings for each other was just so heartbreaking. Because you weren’t so sure if they were going to be together..so many things AND people are trying to keep this couple apart. But we do get a HEA..through literally blood, death and deception; our couple get their happy.

Now hopefully Roman can forgive his brother…but I’m sure Ms. Stephens has more in store for us with The Descendants of Ra series.

I love when authors can mix ancient mythology with current times and blend it all together perfectly. That is exactly what this author did, she didn’t pull any punches…you get it all. I highly recommend you pick up this series especially if you have a love for mythology with your romance. Its really good.

EXCERPT
“The only peace I find is when I’m within one hundred feet of the one who balances my soul. You are that person.”
She was about to say she didn’t want to be that person when his gaze turned sultry, swept across her face, down the column of her throat and rested on her breasts. An internal switch flipped and she flushed. Her fingers stroked down the blade as images of him—of them—entwined and doing things she dreamed about flickered in her head. The positions, the thrusts, the licks, and touches. Orgasms after orgasms.
His gaze roasted her. Those oceany eyes kissed her lips, caressed her breasts, slid down her body and settled between her thighs where she ached. Her finger slipped on the metal and blood ran freely. The sharp sting seared all lustful thoughts away. Instantly, he kneeled in front of her and grabbed her wrist. She tried to jerk away, but he held her firmly, his thumb pressed hard on the wound.
“Apologies, your injury is my responsibility. I never should have let you—”
“It’s okay. It’s not that bad.”
“It is. My nearness keeps causing you injury. That, I cannot allow.” Strands of his long hair swept across his face, partially hiding his expression. Alexis brushed the wayward locks away. She skimmed her palm down his sculpted cheek and through his short beard. His eyes widened and…he stopped breathing. Amazed that she had actually caused a man to stop breathing at her mere touch, Alexis leaned in for a taste, that’s all she promised. One kiss to settle the heat stirring in her blood.
Centimeters away from his lips, she paused, then drew away.
There’s a reason you're celibate, Alexis. Too many relationships had soured quick and left her swearing off men for the past year. But if there was ever a reason to end her diet, Reign was it.
But he lied.
What if you approach this logically? You want him. Your panties are sticking to you, you want him so bad. So have him. Leave your heart out of it. Hell, men do it. You can do it too. Screw him, let him work all your kinks out. Just don’t fall in love with him so when the shit hits the fan—
I won't be the one cut by the blades.
She pressed her lips to his.
Holy hell! Nothing had ever tasted so delicious, felt as delightful as his firm lips slanted across her mouth. His whiskers gently brushed her skin, heightening her senses. His scent, woodsy with a hint of musk, filled her lungs. She leaned into him, parted her lips, and licked the seam of his closed mouth. He shuddered and his lips parted. His tongue darted inside her mouth and ignited her blood.
He wanted her. She didn’t just feel in it in his touch, but knew it as if she were peeking into his soul.
They yanked apart, she panting while Reign inhaled sharply and exhaled deliberately. His pecs heaved as his gaze devoured her. Nothing made sense, not the heat surfing through her body or the hunger gnawing at her soul. Kissing Reign erased the presence of every man who had ever touched her. Flustered, she glanced down and saw her finger still pressed between his.
He released her. She wiped away the smear of blood and found perfect new skin. “Okay, so how did you do that?”
“I do not know.” His gaze shifted away.
He’s lying. Disappointment dissolved the lingering taste of him. Wow, that didn’t take long.

#MFRWauthor BOOK SPOTLIGHT: Ash Rising @MelissaFoxWords

One woman tore him apart. Another is brave enough to put him back together—if his past doesn’t kill him first.

MFRW Author Melissa Fox self-published Ash Rising (A DEAd novel), a Mainstream Suspense on May 20, 2014. It's available in both print and ebook!

Infiltrating an international drug cartel is the dangerous chance of a lifetime for Asher Beaulieu of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Falling in love while running the op isn’t part of the plan, but he never had much use for plans anyway. Shrouded in deception and surrounded by temptation, his charmed life explodes in betrayal and tragedy.

DEA Special Agent Emmaline Justice is determined to be recognized for her work, not her sex. She doesn’t have time for an intriguing, wounded RCMP inspector. When the contacts she cultivated over long months of an international undercover investigation keep showing up dead, Emma must use her instincts as both an agent and a woman to determine Beaulieu’s role in the case and in her life.

One woman tore him apart. Another is brave enough to put him back together—if his past doesn’t kill him first.
EXCERPT
“You wouldn’t have spent more than two seconds in my company back then.” His voice was rough, like he hadn’t used his vocal cords in a while. She started at the sound, as she hadn’t been expecting him to respond. “I would have taken one look at you, made some comment I thought was clever but would have probably pissed you off, and you would have dumped me right on my fine ass.”
She snorted. “Please, Beaulieu. Who says you have a fine ass?”
Finger tapping his lower lip, he arched a dark brow. Heat warmed her face, but she gave him a grudging nod to acknowledge the silent rebuke. He did have a fine ass, and he knew it. Probably the finest she had ever seen. Conceited bastard.
“You’re attracted to me.” The low rumble of his voice was as unexpected as his words.
Emma caught her breath and went still, poised for flight across the room, but he held her with his gaze.
“I’m attracted, too. Very much. Is that enough for you, Emmaline? Do you expect something more before you’ll have sex with someone? Promises of love, a relationship? You seem the type.”
Oh, he was clever. So very, very clever. She mustn’t forget that. He poked her pride to get her to prove him wrong, to sleep with someone—him—who attracted her without all the pretty words and a promise of commitment. He thought he had her pegged, but she was clever, too.
“What type do I seem to you?” she challenged.
“You seem the type to want dark, desperate things done to you, to do them yourself at least once in your life. You want to experience a man taking you hard, taking you deep, taking you into pleasure so hot you forget who you are. You’d submit your will to that, so long as he can bend your mind and wreck your body, leave you weak and so completely sated you can’t wait to experience it again…and again…and again. You’d be willing, as long as he made it worth your while. And I can. I can do all those things, but I can’t promise you more. Is that enough?”
She stared at him where he sat across the room. He hadn’t moved, but he’d rocked her world. She panted in shallow, short breaths, and sweat slicked over her body from just his words. A quick, sharp shudder wracked her at the thought of what his hands, his body, his mouth would do to her. One side of his lips twitched when he saw her involuntary reaction.
Conceited bastard, indeed.
About Melissa
After being rationed books like most kids get rationed candy, I started writing to tide me over between fixes. I love to get lost in a captivating story, whether reading or writing. Nothing better than being drawn into a story so deeply you don't realize you're turning a page until you've reached the end, and the characters live on in your heat and mind long after the cover has been closed.

I’ve lived in the Mid-West suburbs, Southwest desert, foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and now on an island in the Puget Sound with my husband and dogs.

EXCERPT
The evening was hot and humid—true South Louisiana weather. Nonetheless, Jordan continued to dance away her troubles. Soon, the denseness of the crowd intensified the temperature. When the tempo of the music slowed, relief rushed over her. This ballad presented the perfect opportunity to sneak off the dance floor. Now she could catch her breath. Jordan strategically mingled at various tables, leaving a few cordial words at each one. With polite gestures, she worked her way from the crowd's core. Beyond the music stage, she spotted a sweet shady spot.
While she imagined herself seated in the space, someone groped her from the rear. Shocked, Jordan jumped. Simultaneously, the person pinned her arms in front of her. Jordan panicked—her body was being held against her will. Movements restricted, her attacker flipped her around with ease. He pressed his face against hers, and then moved his lips backwards until they rested upon her ear.
""Calm down, Senator,"" he said gruffly.
The sound of the male’s voice made her cringe. “Luther. Are. You. Insane?"" In her unflattering position, Jordan tried constantly to escape without garnering attention. However, the fifty-year-old, former boxer was much too strong. He crushed her body against his.
Alcohol oozed from Luther’s pores and irritated her nose. His arms were locked so tight, that she found it difficult to breath. When she finally inhaled, his stale odor filled her lungs.
""What’s this all about, Luther?” She struggled and pushed against him.
""Ah, Jordan. I just want a dance."" Undoubtedly inebriated, his words were jumbled together.
Luther forced her to take a couple of awkward turns. Using brute force, he gyrated his chunky body into hers. Jordan felt battered by his assault. Turning her head, she looked into his blood shot eyes. There, she saw callousness in the depth of his soul.
She resisted. ""I'm only going to say this once,"" she warned. ""Take your hands off me.""
Her demand seemed to incense him, as he tightened his grip. “Get off your high horse, Jordan."" He enunciated each word, drooling as he spoke. ""I've had my eyes on you for a long time. You need a man in your life. You know it too. Just being near me makes you quiver."

#Thursday13 @ActuallyAlethea Walls for the Wind

MFRW Author Alethea Williams shares thirteen sentences from her latest release.
The sun rose, bringing another day to the vast Western plains. The gambler stood fingering his new silk vest in the faint warmth of the rising sun. Ever since he was a small boy, he’d received much of his sensory information through touch. The feel of the new vest’s cool smoothness pleased him. It soothed for a time the constant jittery feeling that dwelled in his head somewhere behind his eyeballs. His new prize was fine. Very fine. It was even more pleasing to him that he’d wiped out everyone at the card table down to their undergarments in such a short time. He was good at what he did, the cards. It was the only thing he’d ever been good at. He had the touch.
Sometimes, not often, his thoughts drifted back in time. He wouldn’t have made any kind of farmer, that was for sure.
Walls for the Wind, a Western Historical Romance with Whiskey Creek Press LLC

Can an angel survive Hell on Wheels? When Kit Calhoun leaves New York City with a train car full of foundlings from the Immigrant Children’s Home, she has no clue she might end up as adoptive mother to four of them in rip-roaring Cheyenne, Wyoming. Kit has spent her life in the Children’s Home and now she rides the Orphan Trains, distributing homeless children to the young nation’s farmers as fast as the rails are laid.

The first time handsome Patrick Kelley spies Kit in Julesburg, Colorado Territory, he wants her. But circumstances, and a spectral-looking demented gambler as well as Kit’s certainty no one in his right mind would want her cobbled-together family, conspire to keep them apart. As Patrick and Kit and her brood ride Hell on Wheels into their destiny, they’re all forced to leave behind everything they knew and forge new lives in the raw American West.

Western history has been the great interest of my adult life. I've lived in Wyoming, Colorado, and Oregon. Although an amateur historian, I am happiest researching different times and places in the historical West. And while staying true to history, I try not to let the facts overwhelm my stories. Story always comes first in my novels, and plot arises from the relationships between my characters. I'm always open to reader response to my writing.

REVIEW
"Well what can I say after reading this scorching hot read! I’m speechless it was just wow! I know that when I read Christmas in July by this author I knew she had some amazing talent with her writing skills in the Erotic genre but after reading Ace and Mia’s story I have to say that Ms. St. Claire has gone over the top. I don’t even know where to start off but I do have to say that in a couple of scenes throughout this read my pulse was racing. (Monica Cardoza) Amazon Review

What can I say? Christmas in July roped me in, but Ace's Key held me captive. Two strong willed, set minds come together in the most unique way. (Mariela Bustos)

EXCERPT
“I like to have sex without complication between two people. I’m not looking for another wife.” “I’m not looking for anything. I caught my boyfriend of three years bangin’ his assistant in our apartment last week. It’s too early to even call it a rebound.” “That’s about him, not you. Don’t let him put that on you. Turn around.” I didn’t mind his commands or his control, so I turned around to face him. He pulled me onto his lap as water splashed over the walls of the tub. He kissed me passionately, reaching deep within the contours of my mouth with his tongue. The way he kissed left me breathless. Left my lips stinging with fire for more.  Left me limp. Left me dreamy. I wanted him again.

It's a Free Read!
MFRW Author Paloma Beck released Holding Hope, an erotic paranormal romance novella, as part of her Seven Sin Sisters series with Secret Cravings Publishing.

The seven Sinster sisters are entwined in a legacy originating back from the time of the Italian Wars in the 1500s. One by one, they’ll find their mates from the immortal Valendite Breeds and secure their place in history.

Lucas believed he was fated to live out a solitary existence. He devoted himself to the sole mission of protecting his family and his breed when the woman he thought to be his mate died right in front of his eyes. With only one fated mate, Lucas understood his life would be lived alone.

Until he held hope in his arms… Ella was a captive of his sworn enemy when he found her and immediately felt the connection. Lucas rescued her, nursed her back to health and cared for her. Now can he convince her to embrace her identity as one of the women of the Magdalena Circle? This might prove to me his most difficult mission yet.

This novella is recommended to be read as book 4.5 in the Seven Sin Sisters series.
EXCERPTLucas held the most precious thing in his arms, something he thought he’d never have in his many years. Once, just once before, had he allowed himself to hope but it hadn’t been meant to be. Martha had died before he could claim her but he’d been certain at the time that she was his mate. Could it be he was wrong? He’d lived years believing he’d lost his only chance at love, his one true mate. Now, holding Ella in his arms, Lucas understood Martha hadn’t been his mate after all. You couldn’t have two mates –two people perfect for you- and with all certainty, every fiber of his being assured him that he was holding his mate in his arms at this very moment.
He looked down at Ella. She appeared so young; he wondered how old she was. He knew nothing about her and still his heart beat only for her now. Her pale skin was soft under his calloused fingers. He longed to stroke his fingers through her short blond hair but didn’t want to disturb her. She remained limp and still but he took solace in knowing she was calmer now. Her cinnamon brown eyes were closed again. He’d nearly broken down when those precious eyes looked up at him, first afraid and then hopeful. They’d been filled with hope, with such faith and a trust he didn’t deserve.
His gut clenched with the knowledge that he’d claimed this magnificent woman without her consent. Would she understand he had no choice? She was so weak and seemed so vulnerable. He’d held her the entire flight back to the United States, hadn’t let anyone so much as touch her. When Donovan, the TEU’s medic, tried to help, Lucas fought back his growls while he refused his help.
“She needs more blood,” Donovan explained. “I can hear her heartbeat fading again.”
Lucas heard his brother-in-arms but couldn’t reconcile himself to what needed to be done.
“Lucas, listen to me,” Donovan raised his voice as he touched Lucas’s shoulder. “Since she’s a woman of the Magdalena Circle, our blood can sustain her through her injuries. I gave her a few drops of my blood while we were being held. Let me give her a few more.”
“No,” Lucas raised his voice to match Donovan and showed his sharp teeth, two actions he’d never before taken against one of his brothers-in-arms. Shame immediately rushed through him. “I apologize, Van, but no more. She will take from me alone.” Lucas knew the few drops Van had given her wouldn’t do any harm.
Since he wasn’t her natural mate, it had no effect aside from sustaining her health during her healing but he still couldn’t allow it.
Understanding swept over Donovan as he backed away and nodded. “You’ll need to at least give her a few drops until she’s well enough to feed fully.” Donovan pulled the curtain and left them alone.
Silence reigned over them as Lucas sat holding his mate, holding his hope in the future.

Reviews for Bluebonnets for Elly
""Fast, easy read with enough twists and turns to keep the reader engaged and waiting for the next shoe to drop. Beautifully well-written romance novel. The characters are well-developed and could be our neighbors. Highly recommend this book."" - ""Grandma Zona,"" Amazon

""I really enjoyed Elly and Derek's story. Both had wounds from previous relationships, and as the two of them started to trust each other, their pasts returned to complicate things. I enjoyed Granny - she sounds like the kind of woman I want to be. I got lots of enjoyable reading time with this book!"" - ""Patricia Gordon,"" Amazon
Excerpt
After dinner he'd taken Elly out to the lake to watch the sunset. Pink and orange rays filled the western sky until the sun slipped behind a dark cloud. He couldn’t have planned a more beautiful scene. With a sudden spring shower pattering the truck’s roof, Derek leaned back against the headrest, relaxed and at ease. Even when the conversation lagged, he felt no need to fill it with words, but instead, just enjoyed the sound the raindrops made and the presence of Elly beside him. In response to something she said, he gave her a quick hug, and when she put her hand on his thigh, he pulled her to him in an embrace.
In response, she moved even closer and kissed him. In seconds, they were making out like kids at the drive-in movies. Impatient with the steering wheel in his way, he moved to the center of the seat and pulled Elly onto his lap, thankful that the old truck had a bench seat. She wrapped her arms around his neck, wiggled on his lap, and gave him a kiss that made him shiver and sizzle at the same time. When she tickled his ear with her tongue, he groaned, a surge of heat going straight from his brain to his groin.
Does she have any idea how crazy she’s making me?
   We’d better slow down.
But his body had other ideas.
Derek shifted in the seat, his jeans uncomfortably tight. He turned Elly so that she lay in his arms and nibbled kisses from her ear down one side of her neck. He lingered at the neckline of her blouse.
When he paused, she sat up, fingered the top button of his shirt, and unfastened it, her glittering eyes on his. Button by button, she opened the shirt to reveal his bare chest. He watched, unable to move, almost unable to breathe, letting her take the lead. She pushed her hands beneath the fabric and ran her fingers across his chest, stopping only to smile up at him. He gasped at the brush of her fingertips on his nipples.
   Damn.
Still no words passed between them.
With trembling fingers, he loosened the buttons down the front of her blouse. He paused when he neared the last one and looked into her eyes.
Elly nodded and pulled the shirttail from her skirt.
Derek pushed back the folds of cotton fabric. The sunset’s pink light revealed a bra that did little to conceal her breasts. Her taut nipples strained against the cups, as if begging for his touch. He covered them with his hands, teasing with his thumbs. She mimicked his movements on his nipples as well, bringing another groan.
   Damn.
   Mrs. Macaulay's granddaughter.
   Hot damn.
He couldn’t remember the last time he’d been so turned on.
About Sandra Nachlinger
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, I've been writing one thing or another since childhood. I wrote my first romantic story in elementary school. The heroine got a kiss as the happy ending. I still have diaries from my school days, one of which inspired I.O.U. SEX, my first book co-written with Sandra Allen.

I love to travel and keep journals of each trip. When not writing, I like to make quilts, sew, garden, take photos, lunch with friends, and (like Granny in BLUEBONNETS FOR ELLY) spend as much time as possible with my granddaughter.

Reviews
“Shadows of the Past” is a truly compelling story about loss and grief, mysteries that go back to Medieval Times and dark powers that push people to commit unspeakable crimes. A cursed forest, demons, witchcraft, strange rituals and a forbidden love… all these elements come together to build a suspenseful, beautifully written paranormal/ romance novel that will keep you glued to the pages. The universe Carmen Åžtefănescu has managed to create is full of magic and superstitions, while her characters are capable of love, hatred, sin, murder and repentance. - Oana, All Fantasy Worlds

It isn't often that I put a book in my ""I must read this again pile."" I read so much that I usually won't read a book more than once because I am always ready to move on to the next one I haven't experienced yet. This is one of those rare times when I know I will read this book again.
I am a huge history buff and I adore historical fiction. This is historical plus a lot more. This book has an exciting plot with a paranormal twist that is so well done that it doesn't leave you rolling your eyes like so many of the paranormal romances of recent memory have done. I fell into this book hard and never wanted to leave. - Ionia

Excerpt"""Come, we should leave at once,"" she said and glanced nervously over her shoulder. ""Something terrible happened after you left for town. I think the Abbess found out about us. Our meeting in Uncle Ryan's cabin is no longer a secret. We have been overheard. For all I know someone spies on us even as we speak. I think the Abbess, or one of her 'friends,' is hovering somewhere nearby and listening to every word.""
Andrew pulled Genevieve to his chest. ""Do you regret you've come with me?""
Passion smothered Genevieve's doubt and guilt. ""Never,"" she answered, aware of her body's response to his touch, and she succumbed to his embrace.
Calming the gnawing unease in her mind and the thought of Sister Dominica guessing she was the dough of a sinner, Genevieve repeated, ""Never.""
With her eyes closed and their bodies touching she became, for the very first time, simply a woman. She melted in his embrace in spite of the invisible vicious threat breathing around them. Aware they might never be alone again, she fought hard to silence the voice of conscience berating her.
""Oh, God. Please forgive me,"" Andrew muttered under his breath when he bowed his head to kiss her. Their lips met in a passionate first kiss.
Genevieve's spirits fell and her heart skipped a beat when, a couple of seconds later, she opened her eyes and her gaze fell on a knot strangers.
About Carmen Stefanescu
Carmen was born in Romania, the native country of the infamous vampire Count Dracula, but where, for about 50 years of communist dictatorship, just speaking about God, faith, reincarnation or paranormal phenomena could have led someone to great trouble - the psychiatric hospital if not to prison.

Teacher of English and German in her native country and mother of two daughters, Carmen Stefanescu survived the grim years of oppression, by escaping in a parallel world, that of the books.

She has dreamed all her life to become a writer, but many of the things she wrote during those years remained just drawer projects. The fall of the Ceausescu’s regime in 1989 and the opening of the country to the world meant a new beginning for her. She started publishing. Poems first, and then prose. Both in English.
